College as a Cardinal
The summer before college is a blur to me now that I am about to complete my third year at CUA. Though I was very excited to come to Washington D.C. and begin my life here at CUA, I had no idea what I was doing. I kept thinking would I make friends? Would I be involved? And how would I do all of these things? I consumed myself in these thoughts and then as I arrived at Spellman Hall they all quickly left me.
I was so excited to meet my roommates, attend Orientation and make this my home for the next four years. The questions that filled my head for the last months quickly disappeared as I introduced myself to "strangers." Those strangers quickly became my friends and that was just the beginning. I started class, joined clubs and carved a place for myself here.
I hope that you each give CUA that chance to welcome you and allow it to become a part of your life. The first week will be awkward, but remember it is for everyone. And all the feelings you are feeling are felt by someone else, you are not alone.
Over the next few months please check the website as we update it with information, that will provide you with information to help ease some of your fears and give you an inside look at life here at CUA. Our goal is to make this transition easy and fun. Please take advantage of Orientation and Orientation Extended because they are great opportunities to make new friends and get involved. We look forward to sharing this time with you.
